Cookie Policy

Last updated November 5, 2026

tl;dr

  • The site itself sets no cookies.
  • Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie, and only if a protection check is triggered.
  • Your theme and light/dark choice live in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent anywhere.
  • No tracking, no advertising, nothing that needs your consent, so there is no cookie banner.

Cookies Set by This Site

None. The site has no accounts, forms or analytics, so it has nothing to remember about you.

Cookies Set by Cloudflare

Cloudflare serves and protects the site. If one of its protection checks is triggered, for example to tell a person from a bot, Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie: __cf_bm, which helps tell people from bots and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity, or cf_clearance, which records that you passed a check so you are not asked again for a while. Neither is used for tracking or advertising. Cloudflare lists its cookies and their lifetimes in its cookie documentation.

Browser Storage

If you choose a color theme or switch between light and dark mode, your browser saves the choice in localStorage:

  • palette holds your color theme.
  • mode holds light or dark.

This is not a cookie. It stays on your device, is never sent to the server and holds no personal data. If you make no choice, nothing is stored.

Clearing It

You can remove cookies and stored preferences from your browser’s site settings for josue.codes. The site keeps working and shows the default theme. Blocking Cloudflare’s security cookie may stop a protection check from completing.

Consent

Everything described here is either strictly necessary to serve the site or stored only because you asked for it by changing a setting. Under EU rules neither needs consent, so I do not ask for it.
